POSITION: Shift Manager

JOB START DATE: As soon as possible

HOURS: 40 Hours/Week

SALARY: $14.42/hour

JOB DESCRIPTION

PURPOSE OF POSITION: To effectively manage the operations of a restaurant on a day-to-day basis, within the policies and guidelines of the company, ensuring customer satisfaction, team member satisfaction/retention and profit maximization

The main duties include but not limited to:

  • Supervise, co-ordinate the activities of the staff who prepare, portion and serve food
  • Estimate and order ingredients and supplies required for meal preparation
  • Maintain records of stock, repairs, sales and wastage
  • Prepare and submit reports
  • Establish methods to meet work schedules
  • Supervise, motivate and train team members on an assigned shift
  • Train staff in job duties, and sanitation and safety procedures
  • Plan, organize, direct, control and evaulate daily operations
  • implement operational procedures
  • Train staff in job duties, sanitation and safety procedures 
  • Balance cash and complete balance sheets, cash reports, reconciliation and related forms
  • Respond to customer complaints
  • Ensure health and safety regulations are followed; participate in marketing plans and implementation
  • Provide input to Restaurant General Manager when preformance issues arise on any shift supervised 
  • Ensure staff are properly executing current promotions
  • Direct efficient and accurate preparation and sale of products to maximize customer satisfaction 
  • Ensure that food and service meet quality control standards
  • Implement operational procedures

Experience:

  • 1 - 2 years experience. Preferably a supervisory experience in service counter attendants and food preparers

Ability to supervise:

  • 5-10 people

Workers Supervised: Food service counter attendants and food preparers

Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): Not required, Not applicable

Minimum Education: Some secondary education

Languages: English
