Mechanical Project Manager

The Mechanical Project Manager:

Acts as a leader, operator, and steward of electrical service projects.
Guides, motivates, and supervises staff and sub-trades.
Directs the production process, including acquisition, schedule development, proposal writing, execution of construction projects, and contract negotiations.
Monitors progress against project plans, scope, schedules, and budgets to ensure commissioning of electrical construction projects on time and within budget.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Including but not limited to:
Develop and implement short and medium range operational plans, goals, objectives, policies, and standard operating procedures within the corporate policy framework
Receives and critically reviews work orders, preliminary plans, and proposals to determine feasibility/advisability
Liaise with clients by attending progress and bid clarification meetings, safety meetings, and management meetings  
Oversee the supervision of personnel, which includes work allocation, training, and problem resolution; evaluate performance and making recommendations for personnel actions; motivate employees to achieve peak productivity and performance
Responsible for project planning, scheduling, document control, progress monitoring and cost control
Maintain fluency in construction safety and ISO quality assurance requirements
Interacts with private consultants/contractors and inspects and monitors contractual work for compliance with plans and specifications

Visits and inspects job sites to determine project specifics

QUALIFICATIONS
Familiar with mechanical estimating, budgets, and sound project management principles
Attention to detail, strong mentoring and interpersonal skills; well organized
Mechanical or degree in related discipline, with 5 or more years of experience. Equivalencies may be considered.
